As of January 2026, I joined CASA and the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at TU/e as an Assistant Professor. My research lies at the interface between physics, chemistry, and mathematics, and aims at developing reliable and practical methods to describe electronic structure from a density-functional-theory standpoint. In particular, I focus on the strictly-correlated-electrons and exact-factorization frameworks, as well as on adiabatic-connection methods.
I obtained my PhD from the Department of Chemistry at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and held postdoctoral positions at different institutions, including University of California Merced and Université Paris-Saclay as an MSCA fellow. At TU/e and within CASA, I look forward to contributing to electronic-structure modelling from quantum to material scales and to interdisciplinary collaborations at the interface of applied mathematics and quantum chemistry.
